A podcast that aims to break the stereotypes surrounding tradespeople and the blue-collar working class. I'd like to highlight the stories, accomplishments, and inspirations of the people behind the scenes in our society. From job site humor to parenting tips, personal monologues to interviews - a platform for the men and women who keep our lights on and our society functioning.

PJP#8 Mental Toughness w/Jonty
Wednesday Oct 21, 2020
Wednesday Oct 21, 2020
With this week's monologue episode I'm trying a little bit of a different format. Following the solo portion of the podcast I will be joined by Jonty to discuss the topic of "Mental Toughness."
Mental toughness is something earned through hardship or challenges in life but can be hugely beneficial moving forward though trying stages of life. We touch on different areas where we struggle, and lessons we pull from to get through these new challenges. There is a particular excerpt from a speech by John Roberts that is read on this episode that blows me away every time I hear it.

PJP#6 - Perspective
Wednesday Oct 07, 2020
Wednesday Oct 07, 2020
This week's episode is all about perspective, be it your own internal viewpoints or keeping in mind that those around us may carry different opinions based on personal experiences and ideas. We all have to do our best to analyze ourselves, avoid echo chambers, and look for more ways to bridge the divide rather than widen it.

PJP #3 - Meritocracy and work rather than words.
Wednesday Sep 16, 2020
Wednesday Sep 16, 2020
Sorry everyone! This weeks' episode is a little bit shorter than I'd have liked, but I was out of town during my usual recording time. This one's about the importance of setting examples through effort and work, rather than talking your way up the ladder. Also exploring the lasting effects that proof through action leave on parental and personal relationships.
If you have a question, comment, or would like to reach out for a discussion please email me at plaidjacketphilosopher@gmail.com.
